When we think too much................

and forget that life is meant for living in the present. then we get lost in the past stories, and anticipation of the future possibilities. in this state the present is gone, and it too becomes a part of the past pool of emotions. this emotional pool keeps growing and we keep sinking deeper and deeper in to this pool. sometime we are forced by life events, or by a conscious effort to start to bring ourselves out of our emotional past and start living in the present. enjoying each moment for what it is, nothing more and nothing less. try taking a deep breath and saying to yourself "life is and I am"

Mindful Meditation

two weeks ago a friend came over for a session of mindful meditation. i guided him through an hour of combined, seated meditation and a deep relaxation using yoga nidra technique. he asked me if i had a blog, so in answer to his question here is the start of the blog.

mindful meditation can be started as a seated meditation practice. seated is good, either on the floor, or on a chair or meditation cushion. if we lie down during the practice, it is possible that we fall asleep right away. so what is wrong in falling asleep, nothing that i can can think of, except then we will not be practicing or learning the techniques of meditation. through continuous and regular practice, we can learn to carry on our daily life, in a mindful and joyful manner................
